The Beginning

The path to Le Mans has to start somewhere and traditionally karting represents an ideal introduction to motorsport. Quick and demanding to drive, most professional drivers learn their craft in karts. I was no different and entered as many races as time would allow, in fact I still compete in endurance kart races around the world.

Front wheel drive saloons provided the transition to circuit racing, but Touring Cars were never in the equation.

A two-year programme in the ultra-quick Formula Europa championship brought numerous top five finishes, fastest laps and pole positions. A smooth style combined with delicate setup knowledge proved to be Formula Opel's contribution, but it still wasn't Le Mans - enter the FIA GT Championship...
